Now in its third year in New York City in partnership with the New York City Department of Education, the Award competition program was launched this year for the first time in Los Angeles in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District.
The Palazzo Strozzi Foundation USA introduced the Palazzo Strozzi High School Renaissance Award in 2010. The Award is an essay competition on the Renaissance requiring in-depth research and sophisticated writing on one of three challenging topics. The competition was launched in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and was expanded this year to include two designated public high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Starting in 2011, the Board of Trustees of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation USA has established the Renaissance Man or woman of the Year Award to identify individuals who, over the course of their lives, have represented the Renaissance values that connect the Greek and Roman classical periods, the Enlightenment, and our own time.
