Columbia System Biology Internship

Palazzostrozzi > Columbia System Biology Internship

Systems biology is an approach in biomedical research to understanding the larger picture—be it at the level of the organism, tissue, or cell—by putting its pieces together. Cancer systems biology integrates different types of information across many patients and is a powerful approach to the discovery of cancer treatments. In the DREAM-High course, we will explore clinical and genomic data from breast cancer patients and discover how combining the data with statistics and computing provides a holistic view of breast cancer. Through a series of presentations, interactive demonstrations, and coding activities, we will learn about cancer from many perspectives, including biology, medicine, statistics, computing, physics, and patient advocacy.

Participants will receive a stipend of $1,300 and meet with instructors online several times a week during the period from July 6 through August 14. No prior knowledge of cancer and computer coding is required. More information can be found at https://dream-high.org/.
